One of the favorite things that Lee Mann Productions Photography and Cinema team loves is to meet with couples and sit and talk with them about how they met and what attracted them to each other and hear about their engagement. We love the way they interact as they share their story. Our LMP team loves that we can be involved in this type of work where no two stories are the same, no two couples are the same, and no two personalities are exactly the same. We have found that the guys have the engagement often planned for awhile and yet they want the ultimate moment to ask her. We love the connection that we feel after we have met with the couples and then can’t wait to see them again at their Engagement Shoot.
Laura and Mike, are one of those couples that just absolutely love to be together and specifically love laughing and having a great time together. They want to be themselves letting both their personalities come through in their photos. So our Lee Mann Productions team met Laura and Mike at Western where they have both spend a great deal of time. They brought their red sled for a great time on the hill, but unfortunately even though the snow wasn’t great for sledding, it was great for throwing at each other and having fun in. After a couple other stops for the evening, we all warmed up while Laura and Mike enjoyed some time connecting while sipping on a milk shake.
Michael Pace and Laura Downs are set to wed in April 2012. Mike was born in Guelph, Ontario while Laura grew up in Mississauga, Ontario. Laura’s family moved to Kincardine, Ontario in 2004. Laura and Mike met in their first year at the University of Western Ontario in 2004. They found love amongst the craziness of Saugeen Maitland Hall, also nicknamed “the Zoo.” They met briefly at the “frosh” football game and then didn’t meet again until April 2005 at a Hawaiian Party. Almost 5 years later, they are engaged and planning their wedding.
The engagement took place on July 27, 2009 on a trip through Europe. At their first destination, Paris, France, Mike proposed to Laura underneath the Eiffel Tower. They spent the rest of their “engagement honeymoon” traveling through Southern France and Italy.
They are planning to have their reception in Southwestern Ontario. For their ceremony, they are researching exotic and adventurous destination ideas. The couple loves traveling and plan to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in the next few years. They also love cooking, volunteering with animals at the Humane Society, camping, watching movies and playing music. They were both enthusiastic members of the Western Mustang Marching Band at Western.
Mike is currently completing his Master’s in Neuroscience at Western and hopes to get into medical school. Laura recently completed her Master’s in Journalism and is now a freelance writer and editor.
