UWO Charity Ball 2010 | London Ontario Event Photography

Every year, students enjoy a glamorous night at University of Western Ontario Charity Ball organized by University Students’ Council – University of Western Ontario

Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the London Convention Centre 300 York Street, London Ontario,   the USC started the day with a brunch that was held with guest speakers. The event takes place annually with the proceeds going to a different charity each year.

This year, the Ball benefits went to the George Bray Sports Association,  http://www.georgebrayhockey.ca an ice hockey program that offers children and adults with learning challenges to play in ice hockey leagues.
While the GBSA tries to keep costs to parents down, their operating costs are quite large. Their ice rental costs alone are over $40 000 per year. All proceeds this year will be donated to George Bray Sports Association Inc.

In 1968, Mr. George Bray organized a hockey program for young people with special learning needs. The George Bray Sports Association Inc. then started to provide a program for those in special learning classes in elementary or secondary schools. These youngsters may otherwise not have played hockey for any other organization. The league stresses fun over competition and provides each player with equal ice time, regardless of ability. Most of the participants have never played hockey before this program and have found it to be a great benefit in developing their confidence and sense of participation.  The league is a parent participating non-profit organization. The coaches, junior referees, timekeepers and the executive are all volunteers who freely give many hours to this organization.

Lee Mann Photography has the privilege of donating our time and being involved with this event for the past three years.  This year was another wonderful success as over 1500 students attended the dance and enjoyed having their photos taken as our Team captured the event with a studio set-up as well as candid coverage.  Lee Mann Photography was grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and this charity once again in 2010.

Kaouthar & Salim | Engaged | London Ontario

Salim Chahbar and Kaouthar Abouzeenni are set to be wed on February 13, 2010.

Salim was born and raised in London Ontario while Kaouthar grew up in the small town of Woodstock, Ontario. The couple met at a holiday party thrown by one of Kaouthar’s best friends who happened to be Salim’s cousin. The matchmaker insisted that the two would make the perfect couple. Soon after, the couple went on to realize that their paths had crossed several times throughout their childhood as they frequently played on the same street and even in the same house.

The engagement took place on November 1, 2009 in Woodstock, Ontario. It only took two midnight shifts at the Abouzeenni family bakery for Salim to muster up the courage to ask Kaouthar’s father for his blessing. With her fathers permission in hand, Salim placed the ring on Kaouthar’s finger who quickly said YES and the rest is history.

Lee Mann Photography had a wonderful time doing Salim’s and Kaouthar’s E-Session. After getting rained out at the end of the fall we were able to re-schedule to a perfect but very cold evening, with a touch of snow on the ground just before Christmas! While very relaxed in front of the camera, Salim and Kaouthar, were comfortable just being themselves while our Lee Mann Photography Team caught the shots.

With the wedding only about 3 weeks away, and will be held at the Convention Centre in London Ontario, the couple has everything in place and is so excited for their special day, and our Team can’t wait as well.
